South Sudanese Students in India: A Call for Nation Building

It was a privilege to connect with our vibrant youth who are currently pursuing their academic dreams in India, specifically here in Odisha. Meetings like these are more than just formalities; they are a powerful reminder that the heartbeat of South Sudan extends far beyond our geographical borders.

During our time together, I had the honor of delivering a special message from H.E. Salva Kiir Mayardit, emphasizing the critical importance of peace and unity in our Republic. I also conveyed warm greetings from the people back home, reminding these brilliant young minds that they are not just students they are the hope and the vital human resources that will define our nation’s future.

The Strategic Role of Diaspora Youth

The education our youth receive abroad is an asset, but its true value is realized when applied at home. As South Sudan moves towards a pivotal moment in history, the need for skilled, educated, and patriotic citizens is higher than ever.

I urged those who have completed their studies to return home. The path ahead requires active participation. We need their energy and intellect for nation-building, specifically to drive civic education and voter registration as we gear up for the general elections. This is not just about casting a vote; it is about shaping the democratic foundation of our country.
